The recently updated edition of the Army's Regulations for Military Awards, AR 600-8-22, provides procedures for service members, veterans, and surviving family members to follow when requesting replacement medals for awards previously awarded.

Replacement medals are awarded one time at no cost to the recipient or the next of kin of the deceased. According to the June 25 amendment to these regulations, replacement service medals or ribbons for people who are not in active service can be done for a fee.

How To Replace World War Ii Medals?
